The Northwood Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Woodlawn-Shreveport Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Northwood put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season last Thursday. They blew past Washington, posting a 35-8 win at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Northwood.
Northwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hutson Hearron led the charge by throwing for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Tomarcus Keith was in the mix too, providing Northwood with two touchdowns.
Northwood's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Kaleb Hauser and Jaden Terry who racked up four sacks between them.
Woodlawn-Shreveport can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Bossier 46-21. The victory was just what Woodlawn-Shreveport needed coming off of a 44-0 loss in their prior game.
Northwood has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Woodlawn-Shreveport, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Northwood against Woodlawn-Shreveport in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 48-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwood since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
