Volleyball Recap: St. John's/Tipton Catholic Comes Up Short

St. John's/Tipton Catholic's tournament run continued when they took on Fairbury on Saturday. The Blujays fell 2-0 to the Jeffs.

Despite the loss, St. John's/Tipton Catholic still got an impressive performance from Lynelle Gengler, who had nine digs and two aces. Gengler is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Kendra Gengler was another key player, getting five kills, four digs, and one block.

Fairbury was led to victory by Alecia Bedlan and Nevaeh Ortiz. Bedlan had 11 digs, while Ortiz had 11 digs. That's the most digs Bedlan has posted over her last six games.

St. John's/Tipton Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Fairbury, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

St. John's/Tipton Catholic has already played their next match (against Thunder Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Fairbury, they will take on Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
