Crystal City strolled into their game  on Friday with a perfect  record and they left with the same. They blew past the Poteet Aggies 55-12. The result was nothing new for the Javelinas, who have now won five games by 20  points or more  so far this season.
Crystal City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Adrian Zavala led the charge by rushing for 260 yards and two  scores while picking up 16.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 70 receiving yards. Zavala's longest rush was for an incredible 95 yards.  Christopher Mena was another key player, having thrown for 306 yards and four touchdowns.
 Crystal City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Felix Luna and  Nick Flores. Flores has been hot recently, having also posted five or more  total tackles the last four times he's  played.
Crystal City's record is now 7-0. As for Poteet, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
 Coming up, Crystal City will be playing in front of their home fans against Hondo  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Poteet, they will square off against Jourdanton at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Aggies will be up against the Indians/Squaws' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.29  points per  contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
