Lockport faced Benet Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Porters had just enough and edged out the Redwings 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Porters as they're now sitting on six straight dating back to last season.

Katelyn Nelson was the offensive standout of the game as she had nine digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Lockport's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Benet Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Lockport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Marist on the 30th. As for Benet Academy, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against St. Charles North on the 30th.
