The Medomak Valley Panthers will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Oceanside Mariners at 3:00 p.m. on November 11th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Medomak Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 18-6 win over Hermon on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Oceanside put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Nokomis 52-14 at home. Oceanside might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Cohen Galley, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Galley has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Sergent, who rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Medomak Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Oceanside, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 9-0 record.
Medomak Valley came up short against Oceanside when the teams last played back in October, falling 36-30. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Oceanside's Galley, who rushed for 199 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 103 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes.
