The Taylor Ducks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season. They breezed by Burton at home to the tune of 72-39. Winning may never get old, but Taylor sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Taylor was led to victory by Kionayh Rivers and Madyson Mitchell. Rivers scored ten points along with nine rebounds and six assists, while Mitchell dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Mitchell's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Zachary, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Taylor pushed their record up to 10-7 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.79 points. As for Burton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylor will play host again and welcome Lampasas, where tip off is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lampasas will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 887th, while Taylor is ranked 335th). As for Burton, they will look to defend their home court on January 5th against Iola at 6:00 p.m.
