After only 12 points in their last contest, Antioch made sure to put some points up on the board against Grant Community on Wednesday. The Sequoits breezed past the Bulldogs to the tune of 47-6. Antioch's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tanner Ludwig, who threw for 433 yards and six touchdowns while completing 72.7% of her passes, and also rushed for 42 yards. Those 433 passing yards gave Ludwig a new career-high. Antioch's leading receiver Evie Baronello was Ludwig's top target yet again, picking up 208 receiving yards and five scores.
Antioch didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Abbigail Fuesting, Carliann Ring, and Sofia Manjarres picked up one apiece. Sasha Johnson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles.
Antioch is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.5 points over those games. As for Grant Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Coming up, Antioch will be playing at home against Guilford at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Sequoits 11.1, the Vikings 14.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Grant Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
