There's no place like home for the McQueen Lancers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 38-29 victory over Reed on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for McQueen, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Caitlin Hilson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leah Nisenfeld, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Loss or not, Reed got some senior leadership from Amanda Narcise and Jazmyn Wright. Narcise scored eight points, while Wright. scored eight points.
McQueen's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13. As for Reed, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McQueen will challenge Galena at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Reed, they will head out on the road to square off against Damonte Ranch at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Damonte Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
