The Prince RVT Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-39 walloping at the hands of Avon.
Prince RVT's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Atarian Salmon, who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Salmon scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Hernandez, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Prince RVT struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Prince RVT has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Avon, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prince RVT will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harvard Ellis Tech is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Avon, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Lions at 6:45 p.m. on February 6th. One thing working in Northwest Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
