It was a good run, but the Graham Local Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to Bellefontaine 64-59. The game was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but Graham Local was outscored by Bellefontaine in the second.
Graham Local's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Audrey Larmee, who scored 11 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Larmee has scored all season. Cora McWhinney was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Graham Local smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellefontaine only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Bellefontaine got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Quinlan Zedeker out in front who scored 22 points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiffany Boop, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Graham Local's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Bellefontaine, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.
Graham Local will head out on the road to take on Shawnee at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Shawnee has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 18. As for Bellefontaine, they will be playing at home against Tecumseh at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
