Mother Lode League recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Mother Lode League this week, Amador beat Capital Christian 14-9. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Buffaloes.
Amador moved up to 384 from 524 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Bill Baker's team was able to move up by besting the Cougars 14-9.
Colin Jacobs was a passing and rushing force as Linden beat Dixon. He completed 4 passes for 112 yards and also ran for 130 yards. Jacobs' favorite target this week was Kevin Holtberg, who caught 3 passes for 58 yards.
Holtberg was the best receiver in the league this week as the Lions topped the Rams. Holtberg tallied 3 receptions for 58 yards.
Summerville's Brice Farrell and JT McCready led Mother Lode League in both passing and receiving yards. Farrell has thrown for 502 yards this season, while McCready, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 9 catches for 235 yards. Calaveras's Mike Seawell leads the league in rushing yards with 360.
Bret Harte lost to Brookside Christian 58-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
