After flying high against the Salem Lions  last Friday, the Corydon Central Panthers came back down to earth. Corydon Central fell just short of Brownstown Central by a score of  40-37. Corydon Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Brownstown Central apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in November of 2022.
 Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Josie Vaughn, who  scored 11 points along with seven  steals. Vaughn scored a full 29.7% of Corydon Central's points, the ninth time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points.  Alyssa Groover was another key contributor,  scoring eight points along with five  rebounds and three  steals.
 Corydon Central's loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 7-4. As for Brownstown Central, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corydon Central's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Meade County at 7:30  p.m.  on December 14th. Meade County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.2  points per game. Brownstown Central will be home for the holidays to greet  Silver Creek at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday.
