Lowell is 9-1 against the Eagles since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Lowell Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Washington Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lowell waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 61-38 margin over The Academy - San Francisco. Given Lowell's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 408th, while the Wolves are ranked 1112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Washington waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 82-52 win over Balboa on the road. Washington pushed the score to 80-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buccaneers cut but never quite recovered from.
Lowell is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Washington, they pushed their record up to 17-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Lowell didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Washington's Korey Abantao, who scored 19 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Lowell still be able to contain Abantao? There's only one way to find out.
