After two games on the road, Inland Lakes is heading back home. They will take on the Alpena Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Inland Lakes was the victim of a tough 62-42 loss at the hands of Onaway. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Inland Lakes in their matchups with Onaway: they've now lost three in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Sam Schoonmaker, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Connor Wallace, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Alpena suffered a rough 72-51 defeat at the hands of Traverse City West on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Alpena can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 431st, while Traverse City West is ranked 94th).
Inland Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Alpena, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
