The defense contributed on the scoring end for
North Davidson (Lexington, N.C.) on Saturday, totaling six points as the Knights beat
Mount Tabor (Winston-Salem, N.C.) 7-6.
The lead that the Knights took on a touchdown with 10:00 to go in the second quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
The Spartans' lone touchdown came on an 8-yard run in the first quarter.
Led by
Shy Tuttle, North Davidson went into the matchup giving up only 13.3 points per game.
ND got revenge for last year's 47-28 loss to Mount Tabor with the victory.
In a 4A Central Piedmont game next week North Davidson (7-0) takes on Reagan, and Mount Tabor (3-3) will go up against R.J. Reynolds also in a 4A Central Piedmont game.
