Portsmouth is a perfect 6-0 against Green since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Green will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Portsmouth extended their winning streak to eight on Monday. Everything went the Trojans' way against Chesapeake as they made off with a 15-1 victory.

Landon Malone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Portsmouth let J.T. Williams and Jacob Roth run wild. Williams went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Roth went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Williams has posted since back in April of 2024. Colin Perry was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Portsmouth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Green duked it out with Glenwood on Monday. The Bobcats never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.
Blake Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Briden Kellogg also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Portsmouth pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Green, their record now sits at 14-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Portsmouth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Green struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Portsmouth's way against Green in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Portsmouth made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
