Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fideles Christian). They blew past the New Creation Christian Academy Crusaders 89-60 on Thursday. The Rangers pushed the score to 69-42 by the end of the third, a deficit the Crusaders had little chance of recovering from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fideles Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xander Lipinski, who went 11 for 17 en route to 27 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Lipinski's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Eli Shadburn was another key player, shooting 4-for-4 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards.
Fideles Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for New Creation Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fideles Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cherokee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cherokee Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Fideles Christian likes a good challenge. As for New Creation Christian Academy, they will square off against Young Americans Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
