Trinity Valley has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Cooper Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Cooper likes a good challenge.
You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Trinity Valley's strategy against St. Andrew's on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Trinity Valley blew St. Andrew's out of the water with a 58-6 final score. The result was nothing new for Trinity Valley, who have now won five matchups by 37 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Parkhurst, who threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Anderson, who picked up 77 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Cooper unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 28-14 fall against Houston Christian.
Dean Calhoun put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown. Calhoun is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Trinity Valley's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Cistercian and 1-7 University City (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 25.9% over those games). As for Cooper, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Trinity Valley has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 445.9 total yards per game. However, it's not like Cooper struggles in that department as they've been averaging 378.6 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Trinity Valley took a serious blow against Cooper in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 63-31. Will Trinity Valley have more luck at home instead of on the road?
