Tahquitz moved up to 164 from 220 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Mountain Pass. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of a 54-21 win over Temecula Valley.
Tahquitz took down the Golden Bears 54-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ben Moreno threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 16 yards in the win.
Dennis Gregovich's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jonte Price chipped in 241 yards. Talton Tavares helped Tahquitz's passing attack out by catching three balls for 98 yards.
Michael Stewart was the best wideout in the league this week as the Titans topped Temecula Valley. Stewart tallied eight receptions for 100 yards.
Tahquitz's Moreno and Stewart have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Moreno has thrown for 922 yards this season, while Stewart has 36 catches for 440 yards. Joe Jeffers from Beaumont leads the league in rushing with 1037 yards.
Two of the top units in Mountain Pass will face off this week when West Valley takes on the Cougars. The Mustangs' offense has racked up 254 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Beaumont has allowed only 150 on the year.
Price of the the Titans is only 26 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 68 carries Price has accumulated 974 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when San Jacinto takes on Citrus Hill. The Tigers are currently in fourth, while the Hawks are in first.
Tahquitz led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Paul Mcgowen's team. Moreno in the win.
