The Latta Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Lake View Wild Gators at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Latta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
Latta scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Clarendon and snuck past 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Latta has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Latta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amir Rogers, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Rogers hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Elijah Jones was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Lake View had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 41-36 W over Hannah-Pamplico on Tuesday.
Latta's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11. Lake View's record is now 5-11.
Latta came up short against Lake View in their previous meeting on January 10th, falling 58-48. Can Latta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
