Genesee's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Prairie Pirates as they made off with a 25-2 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by seven runs or more this season.
Kendra Meyer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Makayla Herman was incredible, going 4-for-5 with ten RBI, four runs, and two triples. That's the most runs she has posted over her last eight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Banks, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs.
Genesee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Genesee is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.6 runs over those games. As for Prairie, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.
