In what's become a running theme this season, the Whitehall Railroaders gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. Everything went their way against Granville as Whitehall made off with a 41-20 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Whitehall had established a 20 point advantage.
Despite the defeat, Granville saw an underclassman step up: Ella Olsen almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Olsen is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Beaver, who scored two points along with four steals.
Whitehall pushed their record up to 8-11 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28 points. As for Granville, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitehall will take on Stillwater at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stillwater will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Whitehall surely won't give up without a fight. As for Granville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Saratoga Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m.
