Andre Calderon Turns in Season-Best Performance
Andre Calderon produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Bakersfield Christian to the win on Friday. Calderon picked up 122 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 66 yards.
This year, Calderon has caught 12 touchdowns while averaging 97.9 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had six receiving touchdowns.

A Season-Best Performance from Talen Mather Leads Bakersfield Christian over Highland
Talen Mather produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Bakersfield Christian to the win on Friday. Mather rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 16 yards and a touchdown.
Unfortunately for Highland, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Mather. Mather threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground the last time he and the Scots duked it out back in October of 2023.

Jakhai Ervin was a major factor in Independence's victory over Ridgeview on Thursday. Ervin turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 75 yards on only ten carries, while also picking up 38 receiving yards.
Independence now has a winning record of 4-3. Ervin and Independence will square off against Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Ridgeview had to settle for second on Thursday, but Diego Herrera sure wasn't going down easily. Herrera turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 25 yards.
Ridgeview is on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Herrera and Ridgeview will be playing at home against Stockdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
