Canterbury has gone 9-1 against Evangelical Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars will challenge the Sentinels at 6:00 p.m. Canterbury is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

Canterbury is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Sarasota Christian by a score of 5-2.

Maddux Wolff was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Evangelical Christian won against Gulf Coast H on Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Sentinels were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Southwest Florida Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Sentinels have posted against the King's since April 27, 2021.

Evangelical Christian also got a great performance from Harrison Martin as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Martin is becoming a predictor of the Sentinels' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 10-13 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Anthony Cabrera was a standout: he scored three runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Slater Smith, who went 4-for-5 with one home run and two runs.

Evangelical Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwest Florida Christian only posted an OBP of .345.

Canterbury's record is now 17-9. As for Evangelical Christian, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-14.

Everything went Canterbury's way against Evangelical Christian when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Canterbury made off with a 14-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
