Everything went their way against the Odyssey Institute Minotaur on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-5 victory. The Sentinels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Brooke Zuluaga made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Scarlett Olivares and Eva Lopez did most of the damage at the plate: Olivares scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Lopez scored two runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. That's the most runs Olivares has posted since back in March. Natalia Casillas was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
