It was a proper cat-fight when Grinnell duked it out with Newton on Thursday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 11-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in June of 2024.

Grinnell's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Newton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
