Jefferson faced Frankfort in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Cougars walked away with a 5-2 win over the Falcons. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 10-2 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Jefferson got a great performance from Jett Gross as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Braedon Oviedo was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 22-3-1. As for Frankfort, their loss ended a 21-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will head out to face off against Pendleton County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Frankfort, they will venture away from home to challenge Hedgesville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
