Basketball Game Preview: Auburn Mountainview Lions vs. Beamer Titans

Auburn Mountainview and Beamer are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Auburn Mountainview Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Beamer Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Auburn Mountainview will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

If Auburn Mountainview beats Beamer with 80 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Auburn Mountainview blew past Jefferson 80-59 on Tuesday. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Auburn Mountainview had a senior duo take command as Beckett Jones dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards and Sebastian Arius dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Sudan Luok was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Beamer beat Decatur 69-56 on Tuesday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Golden Gators are ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Auburn Mountainview's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 21.8 points. As for Beamer, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Auburn Mountainview didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Beamer in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 69-64 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Auburn Mountainview since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
