Softball Recap: Ontario Wins Going Away Against Pleasant

Ontario lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Pleasant, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Warriors blew past the Spartans 9-2 on Tuesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Eden Howard made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Howard was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Lillian Gray was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Saylor Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ontario has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Pleasant, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ontario beat the Spartans by a score of 10-3 on Wednesday.
