The South Garner Titans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 59-53 win over Cary. Given South Garner's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Cary is ranked 485th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Garner got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Najai Hines out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 rebounds. Hines is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Littles, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds.
South Garner's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Cary, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
South Garner will be playing in front of their home fans against Knightdale at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Knightdale's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cary, they will head out on the road to face off against Panther Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Panther Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
