There's no place like home for the Weatherford Christian Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They slipped by Coram Deo Academy 45-44 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Weatherford Christian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Coram Deo Academy saw an underclassman step up: Selah Johnson dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Johnson's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Patterson, who scored 7 points along with 10 rebounds.
Weatherford Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Coram Deo Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.
Weatherford Christian will square off against Aubrey at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday. Coram Deo Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Grace Prep at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Grace Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
