The KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers were the 45-44 winner over the Arrupe Jesuit Generals when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. KIPP Denver Collegiate took a 47-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arrupe Jesuit on Tuesday. KIPP Denver Collegiate has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Ari Cowans, who scored 31 points along with two steals for Arrupe Jesuit. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cowans has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Padilla, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and seven steals.
KIPP Denver Collegiate now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Arrupe Jesuit, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP Denver Collegiate on the road again on Thursday and play against Fort Lupton at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Fort Lupton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they will head out on the road to challenge Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4.
