The Gregory School Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by Catalina at home to the tune of 83-13. Winning may never get old, but The Gregory School sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
The Gregory School found their leader in underclassman Ben Head, who scored 20 points along with six assists and five steals. That's the first time this season that Head scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Devin Dawson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
The Gregory School's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Catalina, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Gregory School won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Benson at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Benson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Catalina, they will head out on the road to face off against Sabino at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sabino knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Catalina likes a good challenge.
