For the first time this season, Westfall will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Huntington Huntsmen at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Westfall needed a bit of extra time to put away Logan Elm. They came out on top against the Braves by a score of 8-5. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won three in a row.
Cash Conrad made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Conrad was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaiden Adams, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Westfall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Huntington earned a 9-6 win over Valley on Friday.
Troy McDonald was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Tucker Hopkins was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Westfall now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Huntington, their record is now 3-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Westfall has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Huntington struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westfall was able to grind out a solid victory over Huntington in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 6-2. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huntsmen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
