Mitchell County and McIntosh County Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Mitchell County had to settle for second. They took a blow against the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers, falling 60-32. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McIntosh County Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Ellis, who went 6-for-13 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Neo West, who posted nine points along with six steals and five assists.

Mitchell County's loss dropped their record down to 18-13. As for McIntosh County Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season.
