Midland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Credeur, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Credeur is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Iberia). Everything went their way against Vermilion Catholic on Monday as they made off with a 15-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
Evie Sherville made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Sherville was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Madison Taylor was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Palyn Freeman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
New Iberia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
New Iberia's record now sits at 5-16. As for Midland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.
New Iberia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Midland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .600. It's a different story for New Iberia, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain Midland's hitters?
