Rawlins County has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Quinter Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Rawlins County strolled past Cheylin with points to spare, taking the game 47-29. Given Rawlins County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Cheylin is ranked 239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rawlins County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abby Micek led the charge by scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Micek has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Camden Franklin, who scored nine points along with six assists and six steals.
Meanwhile, Quinter didn't have too much trouble with Wheatland-Grinnell on the road on Tuesday as they won 67-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Quinter.
Rawlins County is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Quinter, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Rawlins County barely slipped by Quinter in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 43-42. Does Rawlins County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Quinter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
