After having lost a blowout in their previous game against CHESS Academy, the Colquitt Christian Academy Cavaliers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 42-34 win over First Academy. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Colquitt Christian Academy has managed all season.
First Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Logan James, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The game was James' third in a row with at least ten points. Logan Steele was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.
Colquitt Christian Academy's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5. As for First Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colquitt Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Byne Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th. As for First Academy, they will face off against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
