The West Holt Huskies''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ponca. West Holt lost against Ponca in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 28-24 score last time.
Lincoln Konrad threw for 103 yards on seven of 12 attempts. Ian Laetsch was his top target, rushing for two yards.
Trystan Bevelhymer was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
West Holt's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.3 points per game. As for Ponca, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
West Holt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ponca will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Malcolm at 7:35 p.m. on December 12th.
