The Wayne Country Day Chargers stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Epiphany, posting a 78-27 win at home. The win was familiar territory for Wayne Country Day who now have six in a row.
Carlos Vazquez was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyhiem Jones, who scored 15 points.
Despite the loss, Epiphany still got an impressive performance from Luis McElearney, who scored ten points.
Wayne Country Day's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Epiphany, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne Country Day will challenge the Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenfield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully the Chargers like a good challenge. As for Epiphany, they will head out on the road to face off against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arendell Parrott Academy has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
