The Amador Buffaloes''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 55-6 loss at the hands of Sonora. Amador was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-0.
Brad Blankenheim threw for 54 yards and a touchdown. Michael Nunes was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Sonora got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Audie Peeples out in front who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Bryce Nicolson was another key contributor, rushing for 64 yards and a touchdown.
Amador's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.5 points per game. As for Sonora, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Amador will head out on the road to face off against Argonaut at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sonora, they will be playing at home against Summerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Summerville's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six matches.
