Even though the Emerald Vikings scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Union County Yellowjackets still came out on top. Union County took their matchup against Emerald 67-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Union County.
Union County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Koepke, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Koepke has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keishawn Gibson, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
Union County's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Emerald, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County will take on Woodruff at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Emerald, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Clinton at 7:30 p.m.
