The Alhambra Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 79-9 defeat at the hands of Sahuaro. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Alhambra has scored all season.
Sahuaro was led to victory by Kristen Valdez and Cassandra Coolidge. Valdez scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Coolidge scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Coolidge's third in a row with at least ten points. Maggie Boyd was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Alhambra's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Sahuaro, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-1.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Shadow Ridge the next time they take the court. Sahuaro will head out to face Shadow Ridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Alhambra will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
