Even though the Lone Grove Longhorns scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Plainview Indians still came out on top. Plainview snuck past Lone Grove with a 65-59 win. That's another feather in the cap for Plainview, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plainview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacelyn Hammon, who scored 15 points along with six assists and three steals. Hammon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marya Southerland, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Plainview is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Lone Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
Plainview will be playing in front of their home fans against Sulphur at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 307th, while Plainview is ranked 70th). As for Lone Grove, they will head out on the road to take on Madill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
