After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stephenson, the Hapeville Charter Hornets were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 60-14 victory over Forest Park on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Hapeville Charter has managed all season.
Leading Hapeville Charter to victory were Abi'Geal Cummings and Janiah Murray. Cummings scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Murray dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 steals. Murray continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalilah Tucker, who scored 12 points.
Hapeville Charter's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Forest Park, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hapeville Charter will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Miller Grove at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Miller Grove is ranked 374th, while Hapeville Charter is ranked 354th). As for Forest Park, they will head out on the road to take on Jonesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
