Kingsford had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Crivitz Wolverines with a sharp 10-3 win on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Flivvers as they're now sitting on four straight dating back to last season.
Mya Brunswick was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Brunswick was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kailey Sundquist was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-4. Addy Kriegl was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Kingsford will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Westwood at 3:45 p.m. on the 15th. As for Crivitz, they will take on Coleman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
