Basketball Recap: North Florida Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Parker Freeland and Jace Riggan

North Florida Christian lost against Gadsden County back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The North Florida Christian Eagles took a 79-63 bruising from the Gadsden County Jaguars. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (55), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

North Florida Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jace Riggan, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points and five rebounds, and Parker Freeland, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points. That's the most points Freeland has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyle Wright, who posted nine points.

North Florida Christian dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Gadsden County, their record is now 3-7.

North Florida Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chiles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Florida Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Chiles likes a good challenge. As for Gadsden County, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Gadsden County Jaguars take on the Godby Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
