Baseball Recap: South River Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

South River extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 10-7-1. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Glen Burnie Gophers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Parker Box made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Box was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Lutterbie, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Jonah Hall was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Glen Burnie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12-1 record this season. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Glen Burnie's side, Logan Collins made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Eli Pohlman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
