The Jemison Panthers will take on the Thorsby Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jemison has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Jemison is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Billingsley, falling 16-3.
Jemison saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Bean, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another was Haley Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Even though they lost, Jemison hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.
Thorsby not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024. They were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Maplesville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.
Brooklyn Reeser made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, Allie Reeser was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis (Lexie) Matson, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
Jemison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Thorsby, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
