Williamsburg and Middlesboro are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Yellow Jackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Williamsburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Williamsburg turned things around against Pineville on Friday. They blew past the Mountain Lions 12-2. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Isaiah Sizemore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Williamsburg is 4-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Sizemore was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted over his last ten matchups.
